Eli and Edythe Broad, Billionaire Art Collectors

Billionaires almost cannot help becoming art collectors. With so much money and, usually, so many houses to decorate, it only makes sense that they would surround themselves with much of the world's finest artworks, furniture, porcelain and other objects of beauty.

Eli and Edythe Broad
Net Worth: $5.2 billion
Age: 68
Country: United States
Collects: Postmodern art
Broad and his wife started buying art back in the early 1970s, but eventually concentrated on post-World War II paintings to create a collection that contains more 1,100 pieces. In addition to being the founder of KB Home, the nation's largest home builder, and Sun America, which he sold to insurance giant AIG for $18 billion in 1998, he is also a founder of Los Angeles' Museum of Contemporary Art.
